Rosemary simple syrup
My husband loves to make cocktails. He returns from his business trips with ideas of new mixes that he hastens to try to reproduce at home. That’s how he wanted to make this rosemary syrup, so he could integrate it into drinks.
A simple syrup is a one to one ration between sugar and water. It’s always fun to find ingredients to perfume it.
The syrup can be stored for about a month in the refrigerator.
The recipe:
Rosemary simple syrup
This is a base for your cocktails or your pastries.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup cold water
- Fresh rosemary sprigs use quantity depending on the desired intensity
Instructions
- In a saucepan, mix the sugar and the water; add the fresh rosemary.
- Boil, then let it slowly boil for 1 to 2 minutes, mixing constantly.
- Take out of the fire, and let it brew for about half an hour. I suggest you to taste it now and then.
- Take the rosemary sprigs off before pouring the syrup into a sterilized bottle.
Notes
I suggest you to use at least 4 sprigs of rosemary for this. Keep in the fridge.
